Enfinity Executives Deliver Solar Insights At Leading Industry Conferences
Atlanta, 7 December 2010 – Senior executives from Enfinity America Corporation, a leading international solar power project developer, addressed solar energy financing trends and opportunities at two industry conferences last week: Distributed Solar Summit 2010 and the California School Boards Association’s (CSBA) 2010 Annual Education Conference and Trade Show.
On Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, Managing Director and Head of Finance Wim Goethals participated in a session at Distributed Solar Summit 2010 entitled, “Solar Developers’ Perspectives on Financing Company and Industry Growth.” Moderated by Peter Mostow, partner, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, the session discussed the strategies and financial structures that are being explored to finance future company and industry growth.
“Financing conditions have improved during the last year, as more investors and financial institutions stand ready to bankroll solar PV projects,” said Goethals. “However, any realistic developer or investor knows that there are no federally-mandated, nationwide incentives on the horizon. With that knowledge, the solar energy landscape in the United States will belong to those individuals and companies willing to embrace the complexities of solar financing on a state-by-state basis. As such, we’ll also see investors channel more and more of their dollars toward the “institutional” solar power developers, seeking a sense of security in these companies because of their size, proven track-record and strong balance sheets.”
On Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, Mark Dominé, director of Distributed Generation for the West Coast at Enfinity, hosted a round table discussion at CSBA’s conference. Dominé’s audience comprised school superintendents from California school districts looking to explore ways in which their schools could reduce their carbon footprint, reduce energy costs and demonstrate to their students the viability of using solar power renewable energy. Attendees were most interested to learn how they could achieve these aims without incurring capital expenditure or even a tax burden to their communities.
Dominé played a key role in Enfinity’s recent development and opening of a solar energy system at the Pioneer Union Elementary School District in Hanford, Calif. The project used 10,878 solar panels and produces more than 75 percent of the schools’ energy needs.
According to Dominé, “The Pioneer project was a perfect example of how a solar energy developer, such as Enfinity, pulls together all the complex moving parts of a solar power installation and drives it forward to a successful and financially-viable conclusion.”
